Book or change a lesson

How do I book a lesson with my credits?

On your dashboard, select Book a lesson. Choose the student (if you have added children), instrument, lesson length, and teacher, then pick an available date and time. Leave How often? on One lesson and select Book. Confirmed lessons appear under Upcoming lessons, and you receive a confirmation email with the join link. The first time you book, the form asks you to confirm your timezone.

Can I book several lessons or children together?

Yes. Set up one lesson, select Add another lesson, then change the student, instrument, or teacher and add the next. Review the Pending lessons list, then select Book. For a fixed run of weekly dates, choose Weekly for 2, 4, 8, or 12 weeks under How often?, select Check weekly dates, and pick another time for any week that does not fit before adding the set. You need enough credits of each lesson length for everything in the list.

How do I move a lesson or change its teacher?

In Upcoming lessons, select Move lesson. Choose the teacher and a new available date and time, then Confirm new date. You can move a lesson up to 24 hours before it starts, and no extra credit is used. This moves just that lesson; other weeks in a recurring schedule keep their usual teacher and time. Your teacher is notified and any calendar sync updates on its own.

How do I cancel, and will I get my credit back?

Select Cancel lesson on the upcoming lesson and read the confirmation before continuing. Cancel at least 24 hours before the start and the credit returns to your balance; within 24 hours it does not. If your teacher or All Around Music cancels a lesson, the credit is always returned. A returned credit goes back to your balance, not to your payment card.

Why are no times available, or why does my schedule need attention?

Available times come from the teacher’s teaching hours, their existing lessons, and their connected calendar, shown in the timezone saved in your Settings. Try another date or teacher. If the dashboard says a lesson no longer fits your teacher’s schedule, use Move lesson to choose another time; your credit stays with the lesson. If the calendar could not be verified, wait a minute for the dashboard to check again, or message your teacher before making changes.

Manage recurring lessons

How do I keep the same time every week?

In Book a lesson, choose your teacher and first date and time, then set How often? to Weekly (keeps your recurring time slot) or Every two weeks. Select Book recurring lesson. Each lesson is booked automatically a few days ahead using one credit of the matching length, and it appears under Upcoming lessons once booked. Buying a monthly plan alone does not set up a recurring schedule: the plan adds credits, the booking form sets the time.

Can I skip or reschedule just one week?

On your dashboard, open Recurring lessons and expand Lesson dates. Use Cancel beside a date to skip that week; the rest of the series continues, and a week that was not booked yet costs nothing. Use Reschedule to move one week, including a cancelled one. Moving a week that is already booked uses no extra credit; moving a week that is not booked yet books it right away and uses one matching credit. You can pick a different instructor for that week only.

What happens when my credits run low?

Your dashboard shows each balance, the date it is projected to run out at your recurring pace, and an alert once a recurring lesson has two credits or fewer. We also email you about two weeks before the projected run-out date and again the day before. ESA families hear a month before, then two weeks, a week and the day before, since an ESA payment can take up to a month to reach us. Recurring lessons of the same length share one credit pool. Once credits run out, your time slot stays reserved until the day before the next lesson, and the dashboard shows that exact date. Add credits by then and the schedule carries on; otherwise the slot opens to other students and we email you. You can set up a new recurring lesson whenever you are ready.

What if the time no longer fits my teacher’s schedule?

That week is skipped, no credit is charged, and we email you. Your lesson slot stays reserved for as long as it takes, and lessons pick back up automatically as soon as the time fits again. Use Reschedule on the affected week in Lesson dates, or Move lesson if it was already booked, to find another time.

How do I stop a recurring series?

Select Cancel this weekly lesson under Recurring lessons to stop future automatic bookings. A lesson that is already booked stays in Upcoming lessons; cancel it there if needed, subject to the 24-hour credit-return cutoff. Cancelling a series does not cancel monthly billing. To stop monthly charges too, open Billing from your account menu and pause or cancel the plan.

Credits, billing & invoices

How do credits and payment options work?

Lesson credits are grouped by 30-, 45-, and 60-minute lessons, and a booking needs a credit of the matching length. Pay As You Go buys one lesson at a time, Lesson Packs are a one-time purchase, and Discounted Monthly Plans add credits after each monthly payment. Pay by card or PayPal; promo codes are applied in your cart. Credits appear on your dashboard after payment, and every purchase is listed under Payment history with a receipt or invoice PDF.

Where do I pause, cancel, or update my monthly plan?

Open Billing from your account menu (your name, top right). There you can pause a plan, resume it now or on a date you choose, or cancel it. Pausing or cancelling stops charges and new credits; credits you already have stay on your balance. To update your card or download an invoice, select Open secure billing portal. PayPal plans are funded from your PayPal account, so change those under Automatic payments in PayPal. Billing and your recurring lesson schedule are separate: review Recurring lessons on your dashboard if you also want to stop lessons.

Where can I see my payments or download a credit usage report?

Payment history is on your dashboard and on the Billing page. Filter by date or by what was paid for, download a receipt or invoice for any payment, or export the list as CSV or PDF. For a credit usage report, expand Credit usage report (PDF) under Your lesson credits on the dashboard, choose lessons taken and credits used, credits booked in advance, or both, set a date range if needed, then select Download PDF.

How do I get a ClassWallet or ESA invoice?

Open ClassWallet Invoice from the portal navigation, complete the parent, student, and lesson details, choose the dates, then select Generate Invoice. Download the PDF for your marketplace submission, or tick the option to have a copy emailed to you. For other ESA programs and scholarship funds, message All Around Music first and we will confirm whether we are a partner of the program. Once the program pays, we add the credits to your account and the payment shows in Payment history.

My payment went through, but I cannot see my credits. What next?

Return to the dashboard, which checks for new credits every minute. Check that you are signed in to the account used for the purchase and looking at the matching lesson length, and that the payment appears under Payment history. If the balance still looks wrong, message All Around Music with the purchase date and receipt or invoice reference so we can check it. Do not include your full card number or password.

Join, practice & watch recordings

How do I join my lesson?

Lessons happen in AAM Studio, our own video lesson room, right in your web browser with nothing to install. Each upcoming lesson has a Join AAM Studio button on your dashboard, and the same link is in your confirmation and reminder emails. The first time, your browser asks to use the camera and microphone; select Allow. If you have an upcoming lesson and cannot get in, message your teacher or All Around Music with the lesson date and time.

Where are my practice notes, assignments, and files?

Select Practice Notes in the portal navigation, or All practice notes beside your latest lesson on the dashboard. Your teacher adds a note after each lesson with what to practice, plus any PDFs, Word documents, pictures, or Google Doc links. Notes are grouped by student and instrument with the newest lesson first; use the search, instrument filter, and date range to find one. Pictures and documents open inside the note, and Download saves the note and its documents as one PDF.

Can I watch a previous lesson?

Yes. Lessons in AAM Studio are recorded automatically, starting when both teacher and student are in the room, and you see a Recording sign while it runs. Shortly after the lesson, the recording plays right on the practice note for that lesson date; your most recent lesson is also on your dashboard under Latest lesson, with a tab per child. Recordings are kept in your portal for 10 days after the lesson; the note shows the date its recording is available until, with a Download recording link so you can keep it for good and share it however you like. Only the copy in the portal expires; the practice note and its files stay. Recordings are available only in your account. If a recording has not appeared a day after the lesson, ask your teacher or All Around Music.

How do lesson reminders and calendar sync work?

We email a reminder before each lesson, 15 minutes ahead by default. Change that to 1 hour, 1 day, or off under Settings; the new timing applies to lessons you already have booked. Under Calendar sync in Settings you can connect Google Calendar or subscribe from Outlook or Apple Calendar. Booked single and recurring lessons, with their AAM Studio link, then update on their own when a lesson moves.

How do I get the best sound in AAM Studio?

AAM Studio never filters your sound, so sustained notes come through just as you play them. The first time you join, it asks whether you are using headphones. With headphones, echo cancelling switches off too and the sound is in stereo, the most natural it gets. Without them, echo cancelling stays on so nobody hears themselves back. Change it any time with the Headphones switch under Settings in the room. A wired headset or external microphone helps too; Bluetooth earbuds compress the sound.

What should I check if my sound or video is not working?

Check that your browser may use the camera and microphone (the icon at the left of the address bar), then open Settings in the room and pick the right camera, microphone, and speaker; the bar under the microphone moves when it hears you. Close other apps that may be using the camera or microphone, then leave and rejoin the room. If you are still unable to join, contact your teacher or All Around Music with the lesson time and what you see on screen.

Messages & lesson updates

How do I contact my teacher or the support team?

Open Messages and select New message. Choose a teacher you have booked with, or All Around Music (support) for account, payment, or general help, then write your message and select Send. You get an email when someone replies, and replying to that email goes straight to them. Parents and students share the same family account for these conversations. Not signed in? The chat bubble on the public site reaches All Around Music too.

Can I send sheet music, photos, or documents?

Yes. In a conversation, use the paperclip for a PDF or Word document, or the picture icon for a photo, then Send. Files can be up to 30 MB each. A screenshot of an error helps us troubleshoot; leave out passwords and payment card details.

Can students chat with classmates?

Yes. In Messages, select Friends to see your friend code; share it with a classmate who also learns with All Around Music, and enter their code to add them. Then use New group to start a group chat with friends, teachers you have booked with, and, if you like, All Around Music. Anyone can leave a group at any time. Group chats that include a teacher are visible to All Around Music.

Where do I see lesson changes?

Select Updates (the bell) on your dashboard to read recent lesson notices; cancellations and reschedules are emailed as well. Also check Upcoming lessons and Recurring lessons for the current dates, times, and cancellations. If information could not be loaded, wait a minute for the dashboard to try again before booking or making changes.

Family account & sign-in

How do I add a child or update my details?

Open Profile from your account menu. Under Your children, add each child’s name; you choose who a lesson is for when you book, and practice notes and recordings are labelled per child. Under Your details, update your name, phone, address, or photo and select Save changes. Your email address cannot be changed from the portal; message All Around Music to change it.

Why do lesson times look wrong?

Check Timezone under Settings (account menu) and save any correction, then return to the dashboard. Every lesson time on the site, in the booking form, and in reminder emails follows that timezone. Recurring lesson cards also show the timezone the slot was set in, so read the timezone shown beside the time.

How do I sign in, or reset my password?

Sign in with your email and password, with Google, or with a passkey. Forgot your password? Select Forgot your password? on the sign-in page and follow the reset email; check your spam folder if it does not arrive. Signed up with Google and never set a password? Settings can email you a link to create one. Settings also lets you change your password, sign out of every other device, add passkeys, and switch the portal to dark mode. If you still cannot get in, email or call us using the contact options below; you do not need to sign in to get help.

Can I book without creating an account first?

Yes. Every teacher profile on the instrument pages has a Book Now button: choose a time, enter the student’s details, and pay for a lesson pack, monthly plan, or single lesson. Your account is created with that purchase, your first lesson is booked, and you receive an email to set your password (the link is valid for 7 days).
