For adults
Online Music Lessons for Adults
It is never too late to start, or to pick an instrument back up. Private one-on-one lessons with a vetted teacher, built around the songs and styles you want to play, at times that fit your week.
Lessons that fit adult life
- Book single lessons when you have time, or keep a weekly or every-two-weeks time that books itself.
- Move or cancel a lesson at least 24 hours ahead and your credit stays yours.
- Learn the music you love, from classical and jazz to pop, rock, folk and musical theater.
- Rewatch each lesson for 10 days and keep your practice notes for good.
Starting out or coming back
Our teachers work with adults from the first lesson to advanced players. Tell your teacher what you want to play and how much time you have to practice, and the lessons follow your pace.
How it works

- 3At lesson time, click Join AAM Studio on your dashboard, in the web browser or the All Around Music app, or in your reminder email.
- 4After the lesson, the practice notes, sheet music, notebook pages and the recording are in your portal.
Questions people ask
Am I too old to learn an instrument?+
No. Our teachers work with adult beginners and returning players as well as advanced students, and each lesson follows your pace and goals.
What should I look for in online music lessons?+
A live teacher who hears you play and gives feedback as it happens, years of teaching experience, a schedule you can keep, and a way to review each lesson. Every All Around Music lesson is live and one-on-one with a vetted teacher, recorded so you can rewatch it, with practice notes in your portal.
How much do online music lessons cost?+
Every instrument and teacher has the same price, set by the lesson length (30, 45 or 60 minutes). See single lessons, lesson packs and discounted monthly plans, which bring the price of each lesson down. Families in 13 states can also pay through their ESA or scholarship program.
How often should I take lessons?+
Many students take one lesson a week, and some take one every two weeks. Either time can book itself from your lesson credits, or you can book single lessons as your schedule allows.
Can I try a lesson before committing?+
Yes. Book a single lesson with pay as you go. Your first lesson has a money-back guarantee.
Do I need Zoom or another app?+
No. Lessons take place in AAM Studio, our own lesson room, in your web browser or the All Around Music app.
What do we need for online lessons?+
The instrument, a computer or tablet with a camera and microphone, a steady internet connection and a quiet room. Lessons take place in AAM Studio, in your web browser or the All Around Music app, and headphones give the best sound.
